Obituary for Suzanne Carole Lessard-Wynes (Lessard)

Lessard-Wynes, Suzanne Carole
November 27, 1963 – April 21, 2019

Suzanne Lessard-Wynes, devoted daughter of the late Gilles Lessard (Renée Piché) and the late Jeannine Lessard, passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on Sunday, April 21, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey, siblings Michel (Anne), Denis ( Lynne ), Monique and Lyne, brother-in-law David, nephews Mathieu (Natasha), Cédric Daniel and Nicholas, nieces Chléo, Janelle and Mylène and close longtime friends Cindy and Annette. She began her career as a personal health support worker, setting the tone for her lifework as a caring, selfless devoted person. She was a valued employee for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, a treasured and a popular addition to the financial team of Ottawa Community Housing. She was also an advocate for worker’s rights and became a union representative. In her spare time she was also on the board of the Ottawa Folk Festival, having served twenty years as a founding member. She touched and inspired everyone she met, and her laughter and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew hear.
